Charles Dance spent new year in Bologna with the “aged parents” of his girlfriend, the film production manager Alessandra Masi. So how is his Italian? “Terrible, darling!” booms the actor, 75.
“I can say ‘Good morning’, ‘Good evening’ and ‘I love you’. That’s the limit. Alessandra’s father knows perfectly well I don’t understand a word, but he still talks to me in [Dance affects an accent] Ee-talian, Ee-talian, Ee-talian. I just nod. Then he says, ‘My voice isn’t what it was,’ and starts to sing. Oh, it’s too funny!”
