Too often typecast as the frosty, austere villain in the likes of Last Action Hero, The Imitation Game and TV’s Game of Thrones, former RSC star Charles Dance proved he could also play the wounded nice-guy in the underrated Alien 3.

Charles Dance is set to play Italian artist Michaelangelo in new BBC docu-drama “Renaissance: The Blood and The Beauty. 
Dance’s casting in the three-part series came as the BBC unveiled its arts and culture slate across television and radio at a dedicated event in London on Wednesday evening. “Renaissance: The Blood and The Beauty” is a co-commission with PBS exploring an era of violence and power politics that produced some of the Western world’s greatest works of art.

FILMFEST MÜNCHEN presents two extraordinary open-air events. A special highlight: UK star Charles Dance, known from the HBO fantasy series “Game Of Thrones”, in the role of Lord Tywin Lannister, will personally attend the screening of his new film “Rumours” at Königsplatz. 

Rumours” will be shown on Wednesday, 31 July on the large open-air screen at the cinema on Königsplatz. The absurd satire stars Charles Dance alongside Cate Blanchett and Alicia Vikander. The film premiered in Cannes.   
Seven world leaders are confronted with a global crisis and wander through an impenetrable, remote forest while trying to draft a preliminary declaration. Whether gigantic brains, zombies or missing personnel: anything is possible here, except constructive co-operation
