Charles is Rowan in The Mapmaker (short film)2012

"About two years ago now I shot the film poster and stills for a short film called The Mapmaker.
It was an intense but fun few days and an interesting insight into the film making process.
It’s now been released at various film festivals and screenings so I can finally show my first (short) film poster here"Sam Christmas
The Mapmaker, a beautiful, dream-like and melancholy film about an aging couple who are forced to come to terms with the complications in their lives when journeying back to a hotel they once visited in their youth. Charles Dance plays the Mapmaker of the title and Jenny Agutter stars as is his wife Isabel.

from an interview with the director : Stephen Johnson
Stephen Johnson: Funding and pre-production were our greatest challenges. We were chasing high-profile stars to appear. I have some great memories from the shoot. Charles Dance called me a cheeky git when I asked him not to talk so posh. He has a wicked sense of humour and made it a much easier process.

April 2010 - Barrington Pheloung to score Scott James Bassett and Stephen Johnson's The Mapmaker (starring Charles Dance and Jenny Agutter) for Flame 47. Produced by Gisela Evert, Executive Produced by Sarah Radclyffe and Nicolas Roeg.
