Supported by the MIFF Premiere Fund, Mark Hartley moves into the realm of fiction, remaking the 1978 Ozploitation classic he so famously celebrated in his 2008 documentary Not quite Hollywood . With a cast including Rachel Griffiths, Sharni Vinson, Charles Dance and Damon Gameau
World Premiere.
Mark Hartley and cast are guests of the festival.
Patrick screens at the MIFF July 27, August 2 and August 9 and will be released theatrically in October.
..............In Hartley’s film the head doctor of a dilapidated hospital is incarnated with classic diabolical campiness by Charles Dance, clearly in his element when scarfing down live frogs and dourly rolling off lines such as "he (Patrick) is currently 165 pounds of meat hanging off a dead brain."...........
