Charles in In your eyes only (James Bond, 1981)

After the iconic TV series The Jewel in the Crown, in which he played the dashing Guy Perron he was invited to screen-test for James Bond. 'My agent at the time rang up and said, "Well, it's happened, darling. They've asked you to test for Bond. Don't do it, I beg you!" And I rather stupidly took her advice.'

2 little reviews by viewers :
Space Truckers (Stuart Gordon, 1996) is a film it’s difficult to say anything nice about as it’s pretty crap. It’s certainly space opera – it has lots of aliens in it, and Dennis Hopper and Stephen Dorff play the crew of an independent tramp space freighter. Nevertheless, treasure the film for Charles Dance’s performance as the villain – he chews the scenery with a insouciant gusto only British thesps are capable of, and also loses body-parts at an embarrassing rate.

Only Charles Dance as an evil scientist leaves any lasting impression. He's a fellow who gets blasted away at the beginning of the picture only to rebuild himself later. His funniest scene, and the best in the film, comes when he attempts to activate his power-driven private parts (yes, he's rebuilt everything) to have sex with the unwilling heroine. He has to get it started like a gas mower, only he has trouble with the pull cord. If the whole film had been this inventive, we'd have had a better comedy than Mel Brooks' "Spaceballs." Unfortunately, what we get is only a routine adventure with a mildly comic bent.
