From an interview of Gemma Arterton...and Ian Beattie

BOXSET
Game of Thrones is completely addictive, even if the acting isn’t great. My favourite character was Charles Dance’s Tywin Lannister, who was so evil but so compelling. Spoiler alert: he’s not my favourite actor in it any more. What a way to go…
actor Ian Beattie, who portrays Meryn(GoT)
When you were on set, was it hard not being spoiled by other actors?
- I was filming a scene with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau last year, and as soon as I had finished, I walked off, and there was Charles Dance. He turned around and he said, "Well, the little bastard finally killed me!" Which basically just gave away the whole end of the season for me. And I had managed to avoid finding out the whole time, until he told me! I'd like to have as good of a surprise as everyone else. [Laughs.]

Charles will be narrator at The International festival music and dance

Charles will narrate the "Egmont" by Beethoven and Goethe : June 19

" John Malkovich , who planned to go to Granada to act as narrator of "Egmont" by Beethoven and Goethe, in the Palace of Charles V on June 19, has canceled his participation in the International Festival of Music and Dance by complications from shooting his new film, wich have altered his schedule, as reported by the organization in a statement.
After the necessary arrangements made, and in order to find a change in the program to keep the expectations of this concert, the Granada Festival has confirmed that the protagonist of "Dangerous Liaisons" is replaced on this occasion by the British Charles Dance, recognized worldwide in recent years by the role played as Tywin Lannister, the relentless patriarch of the very famous series "Game of Thrones."
The change has been possible thanks to the coordination between the Festival of Music and Dance, the director of the Wiener Akademie, Martin Haselböck, and author of the screenplay adaptation of Goethe's work which opens in Granada, Christopher Hampton.
Dance and Malkovich share a solemn and serious countenance, so the British is the best of all possible substitutes for this production, in which the actor tells the work of Goethe with music of Beethoven, releasing the translation of the prestigious screenwriter Christopher Hampton. "

Charles on the cover of The Rake Magazine...and

"Welcome to the Adventurism Issue, starring Charles Dance and the intimidation game. Out now. "

"John Balsom shot Charles Dance for The Rake Magazine July 2015."

"He is the sex symbol not far off his 70th birthday. He is the celebrated actor who still feels nervous before curtain-up. He is the classic villain who goes out of his way to avoid conflict. He is disarmingly direct and fiendishly charming. This is the beguiling world of Charles Dance, the patrician powerhouse who has earned the right to say ‘Stop! Just stop!’ whenever he damn well likes.
The word ‘presence’. That is the word you look for in the company of Charles Dance: the smoky drawl a billion spoken words, and lines that pace across his forehead and beside each cobalt eye, all etched with experience and knowledge.
Wearing head-to-toe black, very ‘thesp’, but really it serves to focus concentration on his face and strong cobbled hands. The fact that I must now say something, ask questions – engage in fluent, friendly and fastidious dialogue – seems so much more of an undertaking.
After all, when you have had a career like Charles Dance’s, unasked questions are few and far between."
"Two great actors and two gorgeous men wish you all a nice Friday, my friends ! "

"You can" ad criticised as a kick in the guts for posties

The ad features veteran British actor Charles Dance, who plays Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, delivering a monologue about NZ Post services in a hipster barbershop.
But posties say that, with up to 300 jobs being axed this year, and 100 next year, the ad is in poor taste.
.....
NZ Post chose Dance, rather than a local star, because he would make Kiwis "sit up in their chairs".
"We were looking for somebody who had a presence and a character that would really project through a TV advert and would help the audience sit forward and take notice of the message.
"We had a great idea of a script and we put it in front of Charles Dance and he said, 'When can I do it?' He was very excited about the way the story was put together through the ad and wanted to be part of it."
Pugh said he had received compliments on the ad from NZ Post staff who were not being laid off.
"I've had a lot of feedback over the last week or so that staff actually feel quite proud of the ad."

Charles in "You can" ad...for New Zealand Post

"Conceived by advertising agency Clemenger BBDO, the ad attempts to reassert NZ Post's relevance in the modern age. And to do that it's called on the gravitas of UK actor Charles Dance of recent Game Of Thrones fame.
Clemenger BBDO's Sean Keaney says it's only the second ad Dance has ever done, the first being the Rugby World Cup spot that didn't feature the All Blacks. And it's not because he has a soft spot for postal services.
"We approached him and he thought it was a really nice piece of writing. So after that it was just about the logistics of figuring out where he was shooting and getting him over here."

Ah ! ah ! ah !

HOLBROOK, MASSACHUSETTS- The 2016 campaign for President is heating up, but Charles Dance is likely to spend this race on the sidelines. Based on the field of would-be Presidential candidates, it appears Dance is already too far behind to mount a credible campaign, and for that reason would be unlikely to jump into the fray.....
